So the doctor said: 'Ok and what do you want me to do?'
She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.'
The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.'
She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.
Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.'
The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!'
'I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.'
The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point.
He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb.
The crime is the same!

Deletewell there are babies born out of rape, babies born out of contraceptive malfunction,babies born to teenage girls who have sex because of so many reasons (babies can be and are born to 11, 12, 13 .... yr olds), etc.
what would be better. a few babies with adequate age gap, well planned parenthood, in accordance to available resources that indirectly also ensure a healthy and better family (especially mommies health)or every time a condom goes burst (or any misgiving happens) you also throw common sense out of the window.

Deletejust because age gap or teen pregnancy, you cant cut off a life, because there are some unavoidable situations, but abortion is certainly not an option, if the mom doesn't want to raise the child, she can choose to give up the baby for adoption... A little common sense is all you need before trying to be the intellectual prick you are so badly trying to be..!!

ReplyDeleteSex determination and abortion- because the in-laws want it or smthn- is wrong and shud definitely be discouraged. But abortion, if the mother wants it, considering a family plan, should be a choice available to her.
The author seems to be blaming the woman for "making" the baby in order to fulfill her sexual desires.
Best would be to device a sophisticated mechanism that ensures safety against social misgivings and other criminal circumstances and actions. Eg: A doctor/gazzeted officer's recommendation or both. Brainstorming will easily lead to a way out but this stupid attitude has to go.
DeleteHowever, keep in mind sometimes intended pregnancy turns harmful for the mother. I think it is best if the lady can prove in the court of law that the baby shall hurt her, physically, emotionally, mentally then it should be aborted. But of course, the reason has to be valid.

ReplyDeleteif a mother wishes to terminate pregnancy, then it is entirely her and the father of the child's choice...it isn't killing...because unless born, it is not living..yes, the organs work, but organs also work in a brain dead person...
in the third/final trimester, the brain starts to respond, the VERY same time, when it is advised NOT to go for abortion, nature has its own methods to make sure that a life is not destroyed without a valid reason...don't just start commenting like you know everything..
and to the author: read about the love harmone: oxytocin...perhaps that will help to know the reason why a child who has been born is more precious/loved..
Well ofcourse..in agreement with the above person ^^ and Mr.Himanshu.. Abortion is definitely NOT killing! It is totally upon a mother if she wants the UNBORN child to be born or not. Such negative comments not only show the narrow mentality of the society against women and their right to decide for themselves, but also, to an extent, would pressurize a women not ready for a child to get into your silly talks and force herself to bear the pains she could otherwise have avoided. Coercing someone to give birth to a baby, even if they don't find it apt for themselves by just filling their minds with "Abortion is killing" and as such shit is totally senseless.
